Co-create new ways of commissioning care for outcomes
Whether you're a care service provider, someone who uses social services, or a local government care commissioner, you can be part of designing the path to more person-centred care.
This fall, the Care Outcomes Lab will guide a team of local commissioners, adult social care service providers, care service users and advocates, and policy makers and other experts, through a co-design process to understand barriers and develop potential solutions to enable local authorities to co-commission services that enable and deliver person-centred, strengths-based, outcomes-focused social care.
Send your expression of interest - fill out the brief questionnaire below and a Lab team member will contact you.
What is a Co-Design Process? A series of structured activities that allows teams or a group of 6-8 interest holders to work through a problem, clarify their understanding of the people impacted, then generate, test, and refine ideas to address the challenge over the course of several days/weeks.
Why are we doing this? Local councils are increasingly adopting strategies that position services to respond to service user needs and aim to produce meaningful outcomes. However there is a gap between these forward-looking strategies and the operational and service realities that people face in the design, delivery and experience of care.
We have organized the Care Outcomes Lab in order to explore the practical and paradigmatic challenges that people experience in social care, in order to help the sector better support the people who make it all possible.
What will the Co-Design Team do?
Gain a better understanding of the challenges and barriers to commissioning, delivering and experiencing social care services that aim to produce meaningful outcomes for care users.
Generate a set of potential solutions to improve commissioning of outcomes-focused care
Create prototype concepts and a plan for testing the prototype in community in ways that allow for learning without negatively impact services users or disrupting care
Test the prototype with real-world current or potential care service users
Gain a clear indication of what next steps are needed for the prototype to be usable in commissioning, delivering and/or using care services.
